Kristen Park Advances AT Polo

Kristen Park advance into the match play portion of the Polo Invitational played at PGA National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Kristen shot 149 or plus 5 to get the number 31 seed out of 32 total. Kristen birdied the last hole to get into match play. Kristen has been under the weather all week but has controlled her golf swing pretty well under tough conditions.

In the round 1 of the match play, Kristen defeated the number 2 seed, Jessica Korda on the 19th hole. Kristen was 2 up for most of the match, but Jessica fought back before Kristen closed her out on the 19th hole. Their was a 2 hour rain delay that further complicated the matches of the first round.

Kristen is in the 2nd round of match play on hole number 12 and is all square against the number 15 seed A.J. Newell of Tampa Florida. The winner of this match will go on to the 3rd round which will be played on Thanksgiving Day.

Because of the rain delay earlier today, the matches have been stopped because of imminent darkness and continuing rain. The 2nd round will conclude on Thanksgiving Day. Kristen and A. J. will resume their match at the point on the course where play was suspended.

Proceeding the tournament the Junior All-American’s were honored with a terrific dinner and awards ceremony. Kristen is a 3 time All-American.
