Kristen Park Eagle’s Final Hole To Grab A Share Of The Lead At The Rolex

Kristen Park of Buena Park, California, pitched in from 15 yards to eagle the 505 yard par 5, 9th hole (Kristen’s 18th) to grab a share of the lead with last week’s U.S. Women’s Pub Links Champion Emily Tubert at 2 over par 146.

Kristen told her coach, George Pinnell, “this is the hardest golf course I have ever played”! This is quite a statement for a 4 time Rolex Junior All-American who has won the U.S. Girls Junior Championship and played in 2 U.S. Women’s Open’s as well as 2 Junior Solheim Cup’s! The Blessing’s Course, located in Johnson, Arkansas play’s to near 6300 yds and has a women’s course rating of 77.9 and a slope of 148. The course had many victim’s in the first 2 day’s. The number 2 ranked girl in the nation shot 79/90 to miss the cut!

Kristen’s pair of 73’s, consisted of 3 birdie’s and 4 bogie’s in the first round and 1 birdie 4 bogie’s and the eagle on her closing hole of the second day.

The nation’s number 1 ranked player Victoria Tanco shot 83 in the first round and today had a hard charging 66 with 6 birdie’s and no bogies. The final two round’s should be a shoot-out with all of the top player’s in the U.S. vying for the coveted Rolex Tournament of Champion’s victory.
