Huo Has Personal Best at San Dimas

Matthew Huo, 13, shot a personal best 71 (-1) and finished 2nd at the San Dimas Canyon Spring Classic. Matthew had three birdies and two bogies in his round. A bogey on the 18th hole prevented him from a playoff with E. Kuang who shot 70 and won the event. According to Matthew’s coach, George Pinnell, “Matthew work’s hard on his game and identifies his weaknesses and then works to improve in those areas. That type of work ethic will result in better scoring.”

Patrick Ordonez shot 49 and finished in 15th place in the Boys 9-11 group. Patrick is working on improving his consistency in his swing to harness a hook that gives him a little trouble in scoring.

Felicia Chang, shot 81 and finished in 4th place in the Girls 15-18 group.

At the Willowick Spring Classic, Yi Yi Ouyang shot a 43 for another personal best that put him in a tie for 7th place in the Boys 9-11 age group. Mylan Hirata shot 89 in the the Girls 12-14 age group and finished in 10th place while Sherilyn Villanueva shot a 45 for a 10th place finish in the Girls 9-11 group.

Congratulations to all of the players that work hard to improve and enjoy the game of golf.
