Elizabeth Wang Leads Girls’ Rolex

photo (3)14 year old, Elizabeth Wang, has taken the first round lead in the AJGA’s Rolex Girls Junior Championship, being played this week at The Country Club of Rochester, Rochester, NY. The freshman to be, got off to a hot start with 3 birdies in her first 4 holes. A lone bogey on number 9 left her with a solid -2 under par 33 on the front nine. Elizabeth birdied 10 and 11, pared 12, made bogey on 13, followed by a birdie on 14 and then another bogey on 15. Pars on 16 and 17 and a bogey on the finishing hole left her with an even par back side.

The Rolex Championship is an invitational that brings in the best of the best junior girl players in the world to vie for the 72 hole (4 rounds) championship. Amy Lee is second with a 1 over par 71 and Megan Khang is 3rd with a 72, followed by former GPGA player Bethany Wu at 73.
