The Kat, Top American at Callaway Junior World Golf Championships

Katherine, “The Kat” Muzi shot 71-71-69 (211) to finish in 5th place at the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships. The Girls 13-14 age group was contested at The Country Club of Rancho Bernardo.

Katherine played solid golf for three days. She was not happy with her final round finish of bogey, bogey, but a made 8′ bogey putt on the final hole softened the disappointment of the bogey finish. Katherine had posted 5 birdies with no bogies in her first 16 hole’s and was posed to finish with a 67. Maybe a little slip in the focus and concentration was part of the reason for her lapse on the last two holes. Kat made 37 par’s, 11 birdies and 6 bogies in her 3 day event.

Overall, Katherine had a great event and she was super happy with her performance and the opportunity to renew friendship’s from past World Championship’s and make new friends this year.

Katherine had just returned from a trip abroad and was a little concerned about not playing or practicing for almost two week’s. Apparently it didn’t bother her too much. A lesson with her coach, George Pinnell, and a few day’s of practice and she was right back in her “groove”.
