Lua Reach’s Semi-finals of U.S. Women’s Am

Tiffany Lua of Rowland Heights, Ca., reached the semi-final’s of the USGA Women’s Amateur held last week in St. Louis, Missouri. Tiffany shot round’s of 72-70 142 to advance to match play. Tiffany advanced to the second round of match play by beating Jenny Shin of Torrance, Ca. 4 & 3. Tiffany advanced to the third round by beating Brooke Beeler of Butler, Ill. 3 & 1. In the round of 16, Tiffany beat Michelle Shin of Cape Coral, Fla. 1 up. In the quarter -finals she beat Jessica Korda of Bradenton, Fla., and in the semi-final’s she lost to Jennifer Song of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Song is a Sophomore at USC and is only the second woman to win both the Women’s PubLinx and Women’s Am in the same year. Former LPGA tour player Pearl Sinn was the other double winner.

Tiffany Lua, was a long time student of George Pinnell. Tiffany and George worked together for about 7 years.

Kristen Park of Buena Park, Ca. shot round’s of 72 76 148 to qualify for the match play portion of the Am. Kristen ran into a red hot Stacey Keating from Australia, who shot 3 under through 14 holes and beat Kristen 5 & 4.
