Choi Finish’s -20 Tie For 3rd

Jay Choi shot a final round 68 (-4) to grab a share of 3rd place in the Japanese PGA Tour Vana Cup played at Keya Golf Club in Fukuoka, Japan. Jay’s 68 included 3 birdies on the front side for 33 and a eagle and a bogie on the back side to score 35. The talented young player won $75,637.00 for his share of 3rd place. Jay’s 68 was not enough to catch Hideto Tanihara who fired a -6 (66) to win the championship at -22.

Jay’s performance at the Vana Cup moved into the 23rd spot in the Japan PGA Money List and should will ensure his playing privileges in Japan for 2011. Jay is currently ranked 18th in scoring with an average of 70.88 stroke’s per round. He is ranked 11th in par or better with an 85.23% average and is 5th in driving distance with an average of 293.77 yards per drive. Jay’s percentage for GIR is 67.75 and that rank’s him 6th in that catagory.

Jay’s rookie year on the Japanese PGA Tour has been very successful and he and his long time coach George Pinnell look forward to his continued success the remainder of the 2010 season.
