Jay Choi Finish’s 2010 17th On Japan PGA Money List

Jay Choi finished his rookie 2010 season on the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) also known as the Japan PGA Tour in 17th place on the money list with earning’s of $534,325.50 in U.S. dollar’s. The season ended with an 18th place finish in the season ending Nippon Series JT Cup 2010, known as the Tour Championship.

Jay shot 70-71-67-72 (280) on the par 70 Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club. Jay’s 3rd round 67 featured 4 birdies and a bogie. More important was that Jay had 10, one putts. He made 5 out of 6 up and down’s for par along with his 4 birdies. Jay know’s the importance of the short game and the 10 one putts demonstrate’s his scrambling ability.

The final round was a mixed bag. On the front nine, Jay shot a 32 with 4 birdies and a bogie. The back nine presented some problems as he had 3 bogies and a double on the 18th hole, finishing the round with a +2, 72 and ending the tournament at even par. Jay was in position to get a top ten finish and one would expect that he was pushing hard and that might have forced him into mistakes on the back side.

Although the finish was not to his liking, Jay had a great season and is looking forward to getting back to California in mid December to celebrate the holiday’s with family and friends. The talented player is looking forward to preparing for the 2011 season and improving upon his 2010 performance.
