Jay Choi -4 Remain’s Tied For First After 2nd Round In Japan At

Jay Choi, despite a 72 (+1) in the second round, remain’s in a tie for first place in the PGA Championship Nissin Cupnoodles Cup 2011. Jay started his second round with a birdie on his first hole, the 10th and then bogeyed 11 and 14 to shoot a one over on the par 35 back nine. Jay made the turn and had 9 pars on the front nine. Following his bogey on 14 (his 5th hole), Jay had 13 par’s in a row, finishing his day with a +1, 72 and remained tied for first with Michio Matsumura who shot even par, and Hiroo Kawai who shot -4 in the second round.

2011 is Jay’s second year on the Japan Golf Tour. He finished 17th on the money list in his rookie season in 2010 earning approximately $540,000 U.S. dollar’s. This is the first time Jay has led the first two rounds of an event in Japan. This position will certainly challenge his patience and his ability to “stay in the moment” to put him into a position to win his first Japan Tour Event.
