Trotter Lose’s In Play-off In Canada

Joy Trotter held a 2 shot lead with two hole’s to play, but could not par 17 or 18 to secure a victory in the CN Canadian Tour’s opening event at Squamish Valley Golf Club in Squamish, B.C. The bogies on 17 and 18 put Joy into a playoff that lasted for 4 holes before Jessica Shepley, 28, a University of Tennessee alum secured the victory. Trotter and Shepley finished regulation play at 139 (-5). Trotter tied the course record of 69 in the first round.

The winner secures an exemption into the 2011 CN Canadian Women’s Open along with the $10,000 (CAD). Trotter’s second place check was $6,996.36.
