Lau’s even par = 2nd place after first round at Trader Joe’s Junior Championship hosted by Pat Hurst

Stephanie Lau shot even par 72 on the Castlewood Country Club – Hill Course to put her into second place after the first round in the AJGA Trader Joe’s Junior Championship in Pleasanton, CA. The 15 year old from Fullerton, CA., hit 12 fairway’s, 10 green’s and had 28 putt’s. Stephanie’s short game was working as she scrambled 6 time’s for par. Stephanie has been working hard to flight her ball and eliminate as many mistake’s as possible by getting her club more on plane in the downswing, according to her coach, George Pinnell.

Lau finished in a tie for 5th with round’s of 72-73-72 (217) in last week’s AJGA Junior AT Centennial in Medford, Ore.

The Trader Joe’s Championship is a 54 hole tournament and can be viewed on live scoring at www.ajga.org. Click on “scoring by the 9’s” and you can follow Stephanie in the 2nd and final round’s.
