Alvarez And Suharli Qualify For Toyota Tour Cup Play

Michael Alvarez, Pomona, CA., finished in third place by firing round’s of 70-73 (143) to qualify for the Toyota Tour Cup Series on the Southern California Junior Tour. Hansel Suharli, Fullerton, CA, shot 75-70 (145) to finish in a tie for sixth and qualify for the coveted Toyota Tour Cup.

In the Girls Division of the Qualifying School, 12 year old, Katherine “The Kat” Muzi, shot 83-79 (162) to finish in a tie for twenty-third place while 13 year old Felicia Chang finished in a tie for twenty-sixth place with score’s of 80-80 (160). Kate Kushi finished thirty-fourth with 89-85 (174).

At the Newport Beach GC Fall Challenge, Leeyen Peralta, Fullerton, CA, finished in a tie for fourth place with a 4 over par 33. Elyse Kim, South Pasadena, CA, finished in a tie for twelveth place with an 8 over par 37.The Qualifying School was contested at Menifee Lakes Country Club on the Palms and Lake Courses on November 10-11, 2012.

In other weekend action, Jeremy Kong, Walnut, CA, shot a +8 (37) at the Fall JDL @ Brea Creek Golf Course, to count toward the requirement for boys to score +8 or lower, three time’s, before qualifying for the SCPGA Junior Tour. Max Mylett, Chino Hills, CA, shot a +13 (42). Max has achieved the requirement to score +8 or lower in previous event’s, but is finishing the season competing at the JDL level. Nathan Lee, a part time player and full time junior hockey star, shot a +31 and finished in thirty-second place.
