Breann Fox 2nd At 2013 Presidents Junior Cup – Double Major

Breann Fox a sophomore from Chino, CA, shot a one under par 71 to finish in second place at the 2012 Presidents Junior Cup, Presented By…. Trader Joe’s. Crystal Wang, Laa Jolla, CA, shot 70 in her final round to best Breeann by 3 shot’s. Breann shot an 84 in the first round of the 54 hole tournament but recovered with a second round 74 and finished strong with a 71 on the final day.

Breann has recently made a club change ala Rory McElroy, and has had a little bit of a swing issue that she has been working with coach, George Pinnell. According to Pinnell, “Breann was getting her shaft a little steep in the downswing and was sliding the face of the club across the ball causing a little left to right weak fade.” Fox did not like that ball flight and worked hard on her path to get the club a little more inside out to produce a more solid impact position. Obviously, she made a positive correction in the final two day’s of the Presidents Cup.

Look to hear more from this talented, hard working (understatement) youngster whose brother Bradley is a freshman at UC Riverside and plays for the men’s golf team.
