Kaitleen Shee’s Summer Vacation Off To A Good Start In AJGA Action

Kaitleen Shee who just finished her freshman year at Diamond Bar HS, Diamond Bar, CA, has started her summer vacation with successful AJGA tournament’s in Kansas and Louisiana.

The up and coming player, traveled to Garden City, Ks, where she finished in a tie for 8th place with score’s of 77-86-75 (238). The second round (86) was played in wind that only those from the Kansas/Oklahoma area’s can appreciate. Kaitleen responded with her tournament best, 75 in the third and final round. The event was won by Daniela Darquea from Quito, Ecuador with 73-79-69- (221). The tournament was played on the Buffalo Dunes GC.

Kaitleen and her father boarded a plane for Lake Charles, La, to compete in the Junior All-Star at Gray Plantation Golf Club. Kaitleen shot 74-73-70 (217) to finish in a tie for 5th place. The sophomore to be, got off to a good start with an opening round 74. Kaitleen was a little off on the front side, shooting a 2 over 38. She had 4 bogey’s, and 2 birdie’s for her 38. The back side had a birdie and a bogey with 7 par’s to score an even par 36 and a total of 74.

The second round was solid except for a triple bogey 7 on the par 4, 14th hole. Kaitleen’s front side was solid with 7 par’s, a birdie and a bogey to score a 36. Her back side was productive with 2 birdie’s and 6 par’s. The only blemish was the triple on 14 that caused her to shoot a one over par 37 to go with her even par 36 (73).

The third and final round was solid for the incoming sophomore. She shot -1 (35) on the front side with 2 birdie’s and a bogey. The back side was a solid 35 with 8 par’s and a birdie. Her coach, George Pinnell, spend’s an exorbitant amount of time with his player’s helping them understand the meaning of “finishing a round.” Kaitleen seem’s to be catching on!

The event was won by Hailee Cooper with 74-71-69 (214).

Kaitleen and her father are flying back to Las Vegas to meet up with her mother and her sister Isabelle. This weekend, Kaitleen will play in a Toyota Tour Cup event at Primm, Nevada, before returning home on Sunday.
