Junior’s Perform Well Toward the Summer’s End

Leeyen Peralta and Katherine Muzi tied for 5th place in the David L. Baker Summer Championship last week. Katherine was coming off a second place finish in her first AJGA All-Star tournament in Michigan last week (lost in a playoff) while Leeyen has been playing on the SCPGA Jr Tour. Both player’s shot 8 over par 70. Felicia Chang, also in Michigan for the AJGA event shot 74 to finish in a tie for 13th place.

In the Boys 12-13 division, Aaron Chang, continued his improved play this summer with a 10th place finish and a score of +8, 70. In the Girls 9-11 division, Sneha Yadav shot a +8, 39 to finish in 10th place.

At the JDL Summer Series @ Rancho Duarte, Duke Pham-Chang shot 49 and finished in 13th place. Duke is a newcomer to the game and has been making steady improvement throughout the summer. Ryan Toh finished in 16th place with a 53. Ryan has played several JDL event’s and he really enjoy’s playing and making new friend’s at each event.

In the Girls JDL, Mylan Hirata, shot 39 (+8) to finish in a tie for 3rd place. Mylan’s +8 score qualifies the criteria for scoring +8 or better, 3 time’s to qualify for the Junior Tour. Well done Mylan!

In the Fullerton Summer Championship, Sneha Yadav, shot 43 and finished in 7th place in the Girls 9-11 division. Britney Sok won the event with a +6, 74 in the Girls 15-18 division.

At the Newport Beach Summer Shootout, Aaron Chang finished in 6th place with a score of +8, 67, in the Boys 12-13 division. Katherine Muzi shot 65 and finished tied for 3rd while Felicia Chang finished in a tie for 5th with a 66 in the Girls 12-14 division. Leeyen Peralta finished in 11th place with a 71.
