“Romo” Aragon Ties For First At Whittier Narrows

Roman “Romo” Aragon, shot even par on the par 72 layout to tie J. Ibara Jr. in the Whittier Narrows Fall Challenge. Roman shot a solid one over par 37 on the front side before shooting a one under par 35 on the back side. Roman had birdie’s on 11, 14 and 16, while bogey’s on 12 and 17, left him in the tie with an even par 72. Roman has been working hard on his putting with his coach George Pinnell. Roman has spent time training on the Sam PuttLab while in his golf lesson’s and has been enlisting the help of his Putting Arc and trusty Chalk Line to improve his stroke. Roman compete’s in the Boys 12-13 division.

In the Boys 16-18 division Garrett Hutchinson shot a one over par 73, to finish in 2nd place at the David L. Baker Fall Challenge. The junior from Chino Hills, CA had 3 birdies and 4 bogey’s in his round. Garrett’s brother, Kyle finished in a tie for 5th in the Boys 14-15 division. Kyle shot a +7, 79.

On the JDL Fall Series circuit @ Heartwell, Mitzi Duarte won the Girls 11 & under division with a +5, 32. Mylan Hirata, finished in a tie for second place with a +7, 32.

In Toyota Tour Cup action at Bella Collina, Kaitleen Shee finished in a tie for 7th place with round’s of 74-79 (153). Kaitleen had TWO eagle’s in her second round! Unfortunately a triple on 8 and a quad on 9 hurt Kaitleen’s chance’s for a higher finish. Katherine “The Kat” Muzi, the 13 year old from Walnut, CA., shot 76-78 (154) to finish in a tie for 10th place. Kat had an eagle and three birdies in her final round. Ali Morallos, shot a +7 (158) with a pair of 79’s to finish in a tie for 17th place, while Crystal Wang finished in 24th place with an 82-83 (165). Crystal also had an eagle on the par 5 second hole.
