“The Kat” Finish’s 4th At TTC @ Olivas Links

Katherine “The Kat” Muzi, lead the opening round of the Toyota Tour Cup Series @ Olivas Links, Ventura, CA., with a -2 under par 70 before shooting a 4 over par 76 to finish in a tie for 4th place. Although, Katherine was disappointed with her 76 and 4th place finish, but her coach, George Pinnell, has been very pleased with her development from the beginning of the summer.

Katherine’s scorecard was relative clean with a 37 on the front and a 3 under par 33 on the back. The 13 year old from Walnut, CA, had only 2 bogey’s, and those were on the front side. In her second and final round she had a lone bogey on the 8th hole that left her with a one over par 37. 4 bogy’s and a birdie on the back side left her with the 76 and a total score of 70-76 (146). Pinnell went on to say, “Katherine is showing more maturity and beginning to understand the meaning of “owning one’s swing.” Her growth should continue according to Pinnell.

Felicia Chang, shot her personal best on the Toyota Tour Series with an opening round 76. Felicia shot 80 in her final round and finished in a tie for 19th at 156.

In Junior Tour action, Sneeha Yadav finished in 5th place in the Girls 9-11 division at the Kikkor Golf Challenge at Scholl Canyon with a 5 over par 35. Kyle Hutchinson, Boys 14-15, shot a one over par 61 and finished in 2nd place while Garrett finished in 7th place with a 69 in the Boys 16-18.

At the Dad Miller Fall Championship, Anaheim, CA, Sherilyn Villanueva shot a 39 to finish in 3rd place, only one shot for a tie for first. Sherilyn finished in 3rd place for the second straight day with a 38 at the Fullerton Fall Championship. Sherilyn missed a tie for first place by only one shot in the Girls 9-11. Kyle Hutchinson finished with a 78 and a tie for 11th place in the Boys 14-15 division. Garrett Hutchinson, yes, Kyle’s brother, shot a 76 and finished in 2nd place, only one shot for a tie for first.

In JDL action at Pico Rivera, Yi Yi (Double’s) Ouyang, shot a 36 (+7) to finish his JDL requirement of scoring +8 or better, three time’s, before graduating to the SCPGA Junior Tour. Congratulation’s Yi Yi! Ryan Toh shot 64 at the JDL event at Alhambra.
