Hirata Return Successful at El Prado Players Tour Challenge

Mylan “Frenchy” Hirata, made a successful return to the SCPGA Junior Tour with a 6th place finish at the El Prado Players Tour Challenge. Mylan shot 84 in the Girls 12-14 Division and was pleased with her performance after several month’s of not playing competitive events. The 8th grader from Hacienda Heights, CA, previously had problem’s scoring that would lead her to make more mistakes causing even more scoring problem’s. It was difficult for Mylan to forget about her mistakes and focus on the next shot, the next hole. Mylan worked hard with her dad and her coach, George Pinnell, to overcome her focusing on the past and try to focus on what is in “front” of her, not what was “behind” her.

Mylan has worked hard and has made a commitment to the game that could likely produce another fine young junior player. You see, she has a bloodline with golf, her late aunt, Gail Lee Hirata, played on the LPGA Tour in the 1980’s! Let’s hope “Frenchy” continue’s the trend!
