Youngest TTC Player 5th at TTC @ Soboba Springs

Rose Zhang, an 11 year old, sixth grader, placed tied for 5th place in the Toyota Tour Cup at Soboba Springs. The Toyota Tour Cup is the advanced level of the Southern California PGA Junior Tour. Generally, it is for age’s 12-18 but Rose qualified last year. What is even more remarkable is the event was a 54 hole tournament and the player’s played 36 hole’s on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Rose shot 77 in the first 18 on Saturday and told her coach, George Pinnell, that she hoped to play better in the 2nd round (the same day). Indeed, Rose was true to her words. The talented young player fired a 75 in the 2nd round and was in 5th place after the 36 hole first day. Rose shot another 77 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 5th place. This is a remarkable accomplishment for an 11 year old competing with players up to age 18. Rose was only 1 shot short of finishing in a tie for 3rd place. Crystal was not happy with her performance and will regroup to fix any issue’s with her swing or shortgame. 3rd place.
