GPGA Juniors Perform Well on SCPGA JR Tour

Samuel Cho, a freshman at Diamond Bar, CA. High School finished in a tie for 5th place with a +7 (79) in the Mountain Meadows Fall event. “Sammy” got of to a difficult start with double bogies on 3 and 5 before making 5 par’s in a row on 7-11. “Sammy” got back on the “bogie train” on 12-14 before making birdies on 15 and 17 to finish with a 79.

At the David L. Baker Fall event in Fountain Valley, CA, Herong Wang tied for 1st place with a -2 under par 60. This was a career round for the youngster from Irvine, CA. Marvin Lin, finished with a +10, 72. Marvin is working on a major swing change and has potential according to his coach, George Pinnell.

At the Diamond Bar Fall event, Mylan Hirata, finished in 8th place with an 82. Double bogies on 8 and 9 prevented Mylan from getting 3rd or 5th place in the Girls 14-18 Division. Michelle Xu had to withdraw after 9 hole’s because of a leg injury.

Sammy Cho shot 80 and finished in a tie for 13th place in the Boys 12-14 Division while Jomar Veloso shot 83 and finished in a tie for 18th place. David Cho, Sammy’s brother, finished in 4th place with a 44 in the Boys 9-11 Division.

In JDL action at Manhatten Beach, Betty Pham, finished in 3rd place with a 35 (+8).

Congratulation’s to all of the junior player’s for their achievement’s and to their parent’s who support their children in becoming the best that they can be.
