Kristen Park Leads U.S. Juniors at Solheim Cup

Kristen Park, playing in her second Solheim Cup has remained undefeated in the prestigious event that pairs the United States best girl junior player’s against Europe’s best player’s. Kristen was paired with Alison Lee, from Valencia, California for the morning four ball matches. Kristen and Alison won 2 & 1 against Tonje Daffinrud and Sophia Popov of Europe.

In the afternoon foursome matches, Kristen was paired with U. S. Women’s Amateur runner up Jennifer Johnson. They beat the Euro team comprised of Sophia Popov and Rosanna Crepiat, 4 & 3. The U. S. team leads the Euro’s 7.5 to 4.5 going into the single matches.

The 2 win’s today extend’s Kristen’s unbeaten record to 5 win’s and 0 losses in Junior Solheim Cup competition. Kristen played on the U.S. team in 2007 in Sweden and was 3 and 0 in her first Cup appearence. The final day single matches will be held August 19, 2009.

Following the Junior Solheim Cup the team’s will watch the U. S. and Europe in the women’s version of the Ryder Cup. The event is being held in Aurora, Ill.
