Jay Choi and Mi-Jeong Jeon spent most of their 3rd and 2nd round’s respectively on top or near the top in their tour event’s in Japan.
Jay shot a 3rd round -2 (70) that put him in a tie for 2nd at -7 in the ANA Open 2010 being played in Hokkaida, Japan. The leader Yuta Ikeda is at -9 going into the final round. Jay was in first place much of the 2nd round but his 4 birdies and 2 bogies were not enough to overcome Ikeda’s round of -6. Choi is in a good spot to either win or get a top 5 finish that will bolster his already successful year as a rookie on the Japan PGA Tour.
Mi-Jeong Jeon also played well in the Munsingwear Ladies Tokai Classic. Mi-Jeong was near the top most of the day before ending in a tie at 9th at -6. Sakura Yokomine and Na-Ri Kim are tied for the lead at -9. Mi-Jeong had 6 birdies in her 2nd round, but a double bogie on the 9th hole slowed her momentum toward winning her 3 event of the year and 16th over-all in her illustrious 5 1/2 year’s on tour.
