Jay Choi Regains Form With 4th At Citibank In Japan

After missing several cut’s, Jay Choi, regained his form at the Japan Golf Tour Championship Citibank Cup Shishido Hills. Jay shot 71-70-70-71 (282) -2 for a tie for 4th place on the very difficult Shishido Hills Golf Club Course. The tie for fourth place earned Jay $81,825.00 to move him up to 38th on the Japan Golf Tour Money List for 2011.

Jay and his swing coach found a solution to his pushing his shots off line to the right in previous tournaments. Jay still felt uneasy, so he checked the weight in his clubs and found that he needed to add a little weight to the head so that his transition from the back swing to the down swing was effortless. Jay told his coach that he felt a little quick on top and that the added weight gave him a better feel in the transition. Several weeks ago, Jay put an Odyssey putter in his bag and said that he could get his putter face aligned better because of Odyssey’s visual design.

Jay will have an off week during U.S. Open week and then will tee it up again at the Mizuno Open at JFE Setonaikai Golf Club. Following the Mizuno he will return to the United States to visit his family and work on his game with his long time coach, George Pinnell.
