Jason Semthiti led UC Riverside with a 73 on Tuesday

Industry, CA—The UC Riverside Men’s Golf Team finished strong at the Folino Invitational on Tuesday, using five scores in the 70’s to shoot 307 in the third round at Industry Hills Golf Club. The Highlanders finished in eighth out of 10 schools with their three-round total of 929.

Long Beach State won the team competition with an 879, two shots ahead of second-place Pepperdine, and three ahead of third-place Cal State Fullerton.

David Gazzolo continued to pace the Highlanders, finishing in a tie for 20th with scores of 72-76-78 (226), while Matt Fitzgerald tied for 35th carding a 235 (76-71-78).

Jason Semthiti led UC Riverside with a 73 on Tuesday, tying with teammate Ryan Smith for 43rd place with identical 238 totals.

Robbie Mamo shot his lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday, firing a 79 to go with 80-81 for a 240 total to tie for 46th place.

Playing as an individual, Emerson Wood also saved is best for last, carding a 73 on Tuesday to move into a tie for 40th place with a 237 total.

Parker Page of Pepperdine and Tyler Torano of Loyola Marymount shared the individual championship with three-day totals of 1-under 215.

The Highlanders have just three days off before hitting the links again, this time at the Wyoming Desert Classic on February 25-26 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, CA.
