Jay Choi’s 64 Lead’s Diamond Cup

A bogey free, 8 under par, 64 has Jay Choi in first place after the first round of the Diamond Cup Golf Tournament at The Country Club Japan, Chiba, Japan. Choi won last week’s Totoumi Hamamatsu Open and carried the momentum into the first round of the Diamond Cup.

Choi has a 2 shot lead over a trio that include Hiroyuki Fujita, Kyung-Tae Kim and Tatsuya Tanioka. The talented 28 year old needed 24 putts in his opening round 64. Choi told his swing coach George Pinnell after the Totoumi Hamanatsu Open win, “the change’s we made in my impact position has given me a much better feeling of where the club face is at impact and that is giving me a lot of confidence and has carried over into my putting.”
