Peralta Victorious At Upland Hills

Eleven year old, Leeyen Peralta, shot a 2 over par 37 to win the Upland Hills Spring Classic at Upland Hills Country Club. The tournament is sponsored by the Southern California PGA Junior Tour. Brianna Park finished a shot behind Peralta with a 3 over 38.

Peralta made par’s on 1 and 2 but ran into trouble on 3 and 4 with a bogey and a double bogey. The young player from Brea, CA, finished strong with par’s on 5 and 6, a birdie on 7 and par’s on 8 and 9.

Ron Hui, Arcadia finished in a tie for 4th with a 7 over par 42 in the Boys 9-11 Division. Ron told his coach, George Pinnell that he could have done better if he had not missed so many short putt’s. Austin Liu, Oak Park, CA. won the event with a 3 over par 38.

Aaron Chang, La Habra Heights, CA, finished in 12 place in the Boys 12-13 Division.

Felicia Chang, La Habra Heights, CA, shot 85 and finished in a tie for 5th place in the girls 12-14 Division.

Ricky Cen, Arcadia, CA, finished in a tie for 4th place at the Marshall Canyon Spring Classic at Marshall Canyon Golf Course in the Boys 12-13 Division. Ricky shot 81 and 3 double bogey’s derailed his chance to win the event.

Sherilyn Villanueva, Stanton, CA, shot a 51 and finished in second place behind Shani Waite in the Girls 9-11 Division.

In Toyota Tour Cup action, Kaitleen Shee finished in 21st place in the Toyota Tour Cup Series @ Carlton Oaks Golf Club. Kaitleen, a freshman, shot 89-83 (172). while Katherine (Kat) Muzie, finished 29th. Katherine is 12 year’s old and is adjusting to playing on the Toyota Tour where the competition and course condition are more difficult than in the age group 9-11 where the player’s play 9 holes. The Toyota Tour Cup Series are 36 hole events contested over a two day period.
