GPGA Junior’s Continue To Perform Well

Katherine “The Kat” Muzie, 12, continue’s to improve while playing on the Toyota Tour Cup Series sponsored by the Southern California PGA. Katherine shot a 2 day total of 156 (79-77) on the difficult Zaharias Course at Industry Hills Golf Club, City of Industry, CA. Katherine has been working through a difficult swing change as she compete’s with tougher competition on the Toyota Tour Cup Series.

Kaitleen Shee, a freshman at Diamond Bar HS, finished in a tie for 26th place with a score of 159 (78-81). Kaitleen, like Katherine is going through a swing change. Kaitleen, according to her coach, George Pinnell, “has a lot of talent and should be a major factor in junior golf if she can get her body synced up with her arm’s.”

Kaitleen’s teammate at Diamond Bar HS, Josephine Chang, finished in a tie for 31st place at 160 (79-81).

In action on the JDL circuit (Junior Development League), Yiyi (Double Yi) Ouyang shot a career best 39 (+12) and tied for 18th place at JDL @ Glen Oaks Golf & Learning Center #2 at Glen Oaks Golf Course. Max Mylett shot +11 (38) and finished in 15th place.

Leeyen Peralta, 11, finished in 3rd place with a +3 (34) that left her only a shot off the winning score of 34. According to her coach, George Pinnell, “Leeyen has a solid swing and will improve dramatically as she grow’s and spend’s more time on her putting and short game.”

In other action, Ricky Cen finished in a tie for 7th at The Casta del Sol Spring Classic #2 with a +11 (71). Trussy Li, finished in first place with an even par 72 at the Toyota Tour Cup Twin Oaks Qualifier @ Tahquitz Creek.Katlachamp
