Junior Player’s Continue Quest For Excellence

Leeyen Peralta, Brea/Pasadena, CA, captured a tie for 4th place in the Girls 12-14 age group at the Heartwell Summer Shootout. Leeyen shot played well on the front 9 with a birdie and 2 bogey’s for a one over par 28. Problem’s on 10-12 caused her to lose 4 shot’s before she regained her composure and finished the round strong by going one over par on 13-18.

Sherilyn Villanueva, finished tied for 5th in the Girls 9-11. Sherilyn, shot a 5 over par 32. She had a birdie on six, but a double bogey on two plus four more bogey’s, left her at +5.

Leo Lu, won the Boys 9-11 at the Kikkor Golf Championship at El Prado, with a 3 over par 39 in the nine hole event. Leo had a solid scorecard with only one double bogey on 4 and a bogey on 9. The former 12th place winner of the U. S. Kids World Championship had par’s on the remainder of the hole’s.

Matthew Huo finished in 5th place and Aaron Chang 6th place in the Boys 12-13. Matthew shot 82 while Aaron shot 86.

Katherine “The Kat” Muzi, won the Girls 12-14 with a +2, 74. Katherine had 3 birdie’s and 2 bogey’s, but a triple bogey 7 on the opening par 4 hole dampened her chance to go under par. Felicia Chang, shot an 87 and finished in a tie for 10th.

At the JDL Summer Series @ Pico Rivera, Ryan Toh finished in a tie for 19th place while Duke Pham-Chang finished in 23rd place. Duke was playing in his first golf tournament. Mitzi Duarte finished tied for 3rd with a 10 over par 39.

Felicia Chang, shot a 79 and finished in a tie for 3rd place in the Girls 12-14, at the Meadowlark Summer Classic in Huntington Beach, CA. Felicia’s brother Aaron, finished tied for 8th with an 86 in the Boys 12-13.

At the River View Summer Championship, Leeyen Peralta finished in 5th place with an 84 in the Girls 12-14.

Aaron Chang shot 92 and finished in 15th place at the Kikkor Golf Classic at Yorba Linda CC in the Boys 12-13 while his sister Felicia finished in 4th place with an 81 in the Girls 12-14. “The Kat” continued her good play this summer with a 2nd place finish in the Girls 12-14 with a solid 78. Leo Lu, tied for 3rd in the Boys 9-11 with a 42.
