“The Kat” Win’s World Championship

Katherine MuziKatherine “The Kat” Muzi, a 12 year old from Walnut, California won the Future Champions Golf World Championship for Girls 11-12. Katherine shot 74-74-71 (219) to win by 4 shot’s over A. Wong, from the United States. K. Yoko from Indonesia finished in a tie for 3rd place with Y. Shin from the United States.

Katherine played solid golf in the event that was played in temperatures exceeding 100 degree’s at the PGA West & La Quinta Resort in Palm Desert, CA. Katherine had 9 birdie’s, 10 bogy’s and a lone double to win the tournament at +3 over par. Katherine has been focusing her practice on her putting after spending time with her coach, George Pinnell, on the Sam PuttLab. Pinnell identified several major issue’s with Katherine’s stroke and the talented youngster made the change’s that resulted in making more putt’s to secure her major victory.

Congratulation’s to Katherine for her victory and improved play this summer.
