GPGA Player’s Perform Well at 2013 Veritas World Junior

Ali Morallos tied for first place in the Girls 14 Division at the 2013 Veritas World Junior Championship. Ali fired round’s of 77-72-75 (224) to tie with Kiana Oshiro, Medford, OR. Kiana shot 73-74-77 (224). Ali finished in second place after a “card off”. Ali, from Long Beach, CA, is an up and coming junior that is committed to her game and respond’s well under pressure.

The Girls 12 and 14, Boys 13 Division’s were contested at the Brookside Golf Club, Pasadena, CA.

Roman “Romo” Aragon, finished in thirteenth place with round’s of 75-77-80 (232). Roman told his coach, George Pinnell that he started the final round with a “snowman” (8 on a par 4), but was proud of his ability to regroup and shoot one over on the remaining 17 hole’s! Pinnell was super impressed with the 13 year old’s ability to recover after such a disastrous start.

In the Girls 12 Division, Leeyen Peralta, finished in fifth place with round’s of 81-80-83 (244). Leeyen’s father, told Leeyen, “that was the best round I have seen you play.” Needless to say, Leeyen was proud of her finish and especially her father’s praise.
