Last week, George Pinnell was involved in a commercial shoot for Adidas and several ESPN Sport Science project’s. Rory Mcilroy, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson were in Los Angeles competing in Tiger Wood’s charity event that was held at Sherwood Country Club. PGA Tour Player’s have tight schedule so it was a perfect time for Sport Science to produce several segment’s while the player’s are in the Los Angeles area.
Dustin had been in LA for a week or more and Jason flew in from Australia at 10 am on Monday and was at the shoot by 1 pm. Jason won the World Cup at Royal Melbourne several week’s ago while Dustin Johnson won the WGC-HSBC Shanghai. Rory edged out Adam Scott with a birdie on the 72nd hole of the Australian Open.
The timing was perfect for Sport Science, 3 player’s coming in for a “shoot” and all of them coming off big win’s within the last three week’s. Pinnell has been a part of several Sport Science project’s that included Dustin, Bubba Watson, Lexi Thompson and National Long Drive Champion, Jamie Sladowski. Pinnell use’s his TrackMan to provide data that Sport Science use’s in their production.
Pinnell enjoy’s the interaction with the player’s and give’s him an inside look at what they face on a weekly basis during the season. Being a tour player, look’s like fun, and it is, but it is terribly demanding on the mind and body. Jason’s flight from Australia to LA and then into a photo shoot, show’s the difficulty of the schedule. On top of that, Jason had to tee it up on Wednesday morning at Tiger’s event with little rest.
Pinnell went on to say that, “I am extremely fortunate to be a part of this and to have access to these talented player’s as well as Jay Choi (Japan Tour) and Rory Hie (Asian Tour)”
