Villanueva and Lu Win at Alhambra Spring Classic

February 3, 2014 Sherilyn Villanueva and Leo Lu won their respective division in the age group 9-11 at the Alhambra Spring Classic.  Leo won with an unconventional even par 36, that consisted of 3 par’s, a double bogey, 3 birdies and an eagle!  Leo has been “retooling” his golf swing from his early day’s of his golf career where he finished 12th in The U.S. Kid’s World Championship at Pinehurst. 
Sherilyn shot a 3 over par 39 to win the championship by 2 stroke’s over Amari Avery, who was featured in the movie “The Short Game” and K Villegas who both shot 5 over par 41.  Sneha Yadav shot 46 and finished in a tie for 10th place.
Sneha Yadav rebounded on Sunday with a 4 over par 33 and finished in 3rd place at the Newport Beach Spring Classic.  Sneha finished a shot ahead of Amari Avery, M Chang and P Harrison.  Sherilyn Villanueva finished in 9th place with a 37, following her victory the day before.
Sebastian Vallejo finished in a tie for 5th place in the Boys 9-11 division. 
Mylan Hirata finished in 7th place with a 79 in the Girls 12-14 division.
In the 2014 Spring TTC Qualifying School, Matthew Huo shot 79-77 (156) and finished in a tie for 55 with Roman “Romo” Aragon.  Roman shot 83 the first day and a comeback 1 over par 73.  Aaron Chang shot 87-93 (180) and finished in a tie for 153.
In the girls qualifying school, Felicia Chang shot 87-81 (168) to finish in 24th place.
