Matthew Huo, 13, won the SCPGA/LA County Two-Day Series tournament by 17 strokes by shooting a personal best 68 in the first round and a 74 in the second round. The event was played at Los Amigos GC, Downey, CA.
Aaron Chang shot a pair of 89’s to finish in 19th place in the Boys 14-15 division. Patrick Ordonez led the Boys 9-11 division after the first round with a 42. J. Nakao shot 37 in the second round to go with his opening 43 (80) and won the event while Patrick finished 2nd with a two day score of 86.
At the Golf Academy of America Spring Classic, at El Dorado Park Golf Course, Felicia Chang finished in 4th place with an 82 in the Girls 15-18 Division, while Sebastian Vallejo shot 78 to finish in 4th place in the Boys 12-13 Division. Roman Aragon shot 84 and finished 11th in the Boys 14-15 Division.
At the Alhambra Spring Classic, Felicia Chang shot 81 and finished in 7th place in the Girls 15-18 Division.
In Toyota Tour action at Twin Oaks, Katherine Muzi finished in 17th place with a two day, 54 hole total of 234. The Kat’s first day score’s of 79-78 positioned her out of contention to win the 54 hole event. Her second day, third round score of 77, ended a disappointing weekend that Katherine was looking forward to. She wanted to be in a position to have a shot at winning the tournament.
