Sarah Taghaboni Moves to Junior Tour with Win at JDL

Sarah Taghaboni, made a quick move through the JDL, to qualify for the Junior Tour on Sunday.  Sarah shot 38 at David L. Baker Memorial Golf Course for her 2nd score of +8 or better to move closer to the Junior Tour.  She didn’t have to wait long.  Sarah, shot a +5, 32 at The Garb JDL Summer event at Heartwell in Long Beach, CA., to graduate to the SCPGA Junior Tour.  Congratulation’s, Sarah!!
Matthew Huo, finished in 4th place with round’s of 75-71 (146) at the PING Summer Championship Series @ Oak Creek, Irvine, CA.  Roman Aragon, shot 83 the first round and came back with a solid 76 to finish in a tie for 9th in the Boys 14-15 Division.
At the Junior PGA Section Championship, Matthew Huo finished in 4th place with 74-76 (150).  Meanwhile at the popular Heartwell Summer Shootout, Jomar Veloso is improving his game while finishing in a tie for 7th place with a +5, 59 in the Boys 12-13 Division.  Aaron Chang shot 68 and finished in 19th place.  Patrick Ordonez tied for 1st with a +3, 30 in the Boys 9-11 Division.
Leeyen Peralta and Sherilyn Villanueva both shot +1 55’s to finish in a tie for 4th in the Girls 12-14 Division.  Elizabeth Fun, won the the Girls 15-18 with a +2, 56 and Mitzi Duarte finished 4th with a +5, 32 in the Girls 9-11 Division.
At David L. Baker Golf Course, Jomar Veloso, shot a +8, 70 to finish in 12th place.  Patrick Ordonez finished 2nd with a +9 40 in the Boys 9-11 Division.  Friend’s, Sherilyn Villanueva and Leeyen Peralta may be taking their friendship a little far with their 2nd straight event of tying each other score’s.  They both shot +7, 69’s to tie for 9th.
Felicia Chang finished in a tie for 18th in her first Toyota Tour event with round’s of 84-79.  The event was played in Las Vegas at Rio Secco Golf Club.
Elizabeth Fung won at the Lakewood Summer Shootout with a +5 79.  She won by a 6 shot margin over Natalie Widaja who shot 85.  In the Boys 12-13 Division, Sebastian Vallejo finished in a tie for 3rd with a +6, 78.  Leeyen Peralta finished in a tie for 6th with a +8, 82.  (Where’s Sherilyn??)  Sneha Yadav won the Girls 9-11 with a +4, 41.
At Empire Lakes, Jomar Veloso had a tough day with a 96 to finish in 9th place in the Boys 12-13.  Roman Aragon shot 83 to finish in 8th place in the Boys 14-15 Division.
Crystal Wang finished in 2nd place at the El Prado Summer Championship with a +2, 74.  Crystal has been working hard on rebuilding her swing and it would appear that Crystal is doing quite well with her new swing.  Girls 12-14 Division.
At the Casta del Sol Summer Shootout, Sherilyn (there she is!) finished 2nd with a +6, 66 in the Girls 12-14 Division.
Elizabeth Wang, currently ranked number 12 in the United State’s, is continuing her busy schedule as she tee’s it up at the Yani Tseng Invitational being played this week at The Farms Golf Club, Rancho Santa Fe, CA.  Elizabeth is coming off a win in the prestigious Rolex Girls Championship in Rochester, NY and a 6th place finish in the Rolex Tournament of Champion’s in Nashville, TN.  Between those two event’s she squeezed in a -1 under par to qualify for the USGA Girls’ Junior Championship, in Scottsdale.  WOW, a busy girl.
