Sebastian Vallejo started the weekend off with a tie for first place in the Alhambra Players Tour Chanllenge. Sebastian fired a solid -1 under par 70, that included 4 birdies and 3 bogies. Sebastian plays in the Boys 12-13 Division.
Leeyen Peralta also won her Girls 12-14 Division with a +3 74. Leeyen had 2 bogies in her opening nine holes and made 2 birdies and 3 bogies on her back side. Leeyen looks like she will be a major factor once she limit’s her mistakes. Mitzi Duarte tied for 2nd place in the Girls 9-11 Division while Isabelle San Antonio finished in 5th place with a 45.
At the Empire Lakes Players Tour Challenge, Michelle Xu won the Girls 15-18 Division with a 78. Michelle won by a shot but informed her coach that she was not happy with her score. She felt she made too many mistakes and felt her score should have been considerably lower.
Sherilyn Villanueva finished in 5th place in the Girls 12-14 Division with a +6 78. Mylan “Frenchy” Hirata, shot 84 and finished 9th in the same division while Keen Laparojkit finished in 14th place.
In the Girls 9-11 Division, Isabelle San Antonio, tied for 2nd place with a +4 40. Her coach George Pinnell, reported that he received a text message from Isabelle’s father, saying, “Your student hit her approach shot short of the green, on purpose, so that she would not hit the duck’s that were walking across the green!” Her coach responded, “she may be my student, but she is your daughter! Still fun to be 11!
Leeyen Peralta shot 78 in the Lakewood Players Tour Challenge to finish in 4th place. Leeyen played fairly consistent until she doubled the 18th hole. A par would have tied her for 1st place. Patrick Ordonez shot 91 and placed tied for 16th place in the Boys 12-13 Division. Roman “Romo” Aragon shot 76 and placed in a tie for 5th place in the boys 14-15 Division. Yi Yi “Doubles” Ouyang, shot 43 in the Boys 9-11 Division and place 6th.
