12 year old, Rose Zhang, continued her string of top 10 finishes on the Southern California PGA Junior Toyota Tour Series. Rose shot 75-77 (152) to secure 7th place in the Toyota Tour Championship @ Oak Valley Golf Club.
Rose was disappointed with her performance this week after coming off of her first Toyota Cup victory last week at Industry Hills. After Sunday’s finish, Rose told her coach, George Pinnell, that “90 per cent of her 6 bogies were due to 3 putt green’s. Everyone had trouble on the green’s today because of the difficult pin position’s. The green’s were really tough! I even 3 putted a 3 footer!!”
The 7th place this week is Rose’s 10th top 10 finishes in her last 13 Toyota Tour Cup appearances. Quite a feat for the #1 twelve year old in the United States and one of the youngest player’s on the Toyota Tour Cup circuit.
Ke “Coco” Yang finished in a tie for 25th place. Coco, has enlisted the help of a new coach, George Pinnell, to help her improve her golf swing so that she can have more confidence in her ability to control the flight of her golf ball. Coco shot 85-82 (167) and immediately following her Sunday finish, she was off to Rowland Heights, CA., to meet with Pinnell.
