Zhang ties for Third at KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational and is selected to play for the West Team in the Wyndham Cup

Rose Zhang, fired round’s of 71-69-70 (210) to place tied for 3rd in the 2017 KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational, played at Fayetteville Country Club, Fayetteville, ARK. Rose, was still, “under the weather” when she opened play with a 71 that left her in a tie for 5th place. Her par 71 was made up of 3 birdies and 3 bogies. In her second round, she started off with 7 par’s thru 7. She birdied 8 but made a double bogey 5 on the par 3, 9th hole for an opening round 37 (+1). RZ (Rose), parred 10, made a bogey on 11 and then lit it up by going, -4 under on her final 7 hole’s for a 32! Rose, is tied for 4th, 2 shot’s off the lead, going into her final round.

RZ, got off to a hot start by going -3 under in her first 5 hole’s. She held 1st place for a time. A bogey on 9 slowed her momentum and bogies on 10 and 12 did not help her. RZ, birdied 14 and then parred out on 15 thru 18 for her final round 70, and a tie for 3rd place, ONE SHOT OUT THE PLAYOFF FOR THE WIN.

Rose had 2 good event’s at the Rolex and the KPMG Stacy Lewis. Rose, found out recently, that she was selected to play for the West Coast Team, in the Wyndham Cup. The Wyndham Cup, is a Ryder Cup format, that pit’s the top player’s from the West against the best player’s from the East. The 2016 winner was the West Team 26-24. Rose, is excited about being selected to the West Team, and is preparing to contribute. The Wyndam Cup will be played July 4-7, 2017 at Mayacama Golf Club, Santa Rosa, California.
